| | As Thanksgiving approaches, many are carrying both gratitude and grief in the same heart. This season, may you be encouraged to hold on to hope, trusting that God is still present—even in the silence, even in the waiting. He is faithfully working beneath the surface in ways you may not yet see. | | |

When God Feels Quiet
November carries a strange tension for many hearts.
While tables fill with food, laughter, and gratitude, some quietly carry grief into the room with them. Others sit through the season exhausted from waiting—for healing, for reconciliation, for financial breakthrough, for peace that still has not come. And beneath the language of thanksgiving lives an unspoken ache: How do you give thanks when God feels silent?
Because sometimes heaven feels quiet exactly when the heart most needs reassurance. Trauma survivors may wonder why healing feels slower than expected. Those wounded by betrayal may grow weary of hoping things can change. Even faith itself can begin to feel fragile. Gratitude becomes difficult when life still hurts.
Some continue smiling outwardly while inwardly wrestling disappointment with God. Not because they have stopped loving Him, but because they cannot understand why the waiting continues.
Yet Scripture often reveals God most powerfully in hidden seasons. Seeds do not bloom the day they are planted. Roots grow unseen long before fruit appears. And many discover that while they were searching for immediate answers, Christ was quietly building deeper trust beneath the surface.
| | | | | | | Even in the waiting, God remains faithful to sustain what feels unbearable.
Scripture reminds believers that He “will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
That does not mean the season feels easy. It means the One who sees the weight of the struggle also measures the strength needed to endure it—and promises His presence in the middle of it.
| | | The cross once looked like silence too.
On that dark Friday, it seemed heaven had abandoned Jesus. Yet resurrection was already unfolding where no one could yet see it. What appeared delayed was not forgotten. What appeared lifeless was still held by God. That truth reshapes thanksgiving entirely.
Gratitude is no longer pretending everything is perfect. It becomes the quiet courage to believe God is still good, even in unfinished stories. It is choosing to notice small mercies: strength to endure another day, a moment of peace after anxiety, the warmth of safe people, the gentle presence of Christ in the middle of pain.
And in time, that kind of thanksgiving becomes its own miracle.
Because wounded hearts slowly discover that God’s silence was never His absence. He was still sustaining, still healing, still preparing resurrection in places that felt buried.
This is where true thanksgiving is born—in the gentle realization that even while waiting, grace is already at work, and God is still bringing life to what once seemed lost. |

Showing Up With Hope
Because meaningful change often begins with a listening ear, a caring presence, and a willing heart.
One of the most beautiful things about healing is this: it rarely happens in isolation. Sometimes, hope begins with something as simple as someone showing up, sitting beside you, listening without rushing, and reminding you that you matter. That spirit is at the heart of Mending The Scarred’s community outreaches—moments where compassion steps outside the walls of a meeting room and meets people right where they are.
Last November, our team had the privilege of coming alongside women at a high-security shelter in a spirit of kindness, encouragement, and genuine presence. Though time has passed, the impact of that afternoon remains meaningful to us. Since then, we have stayed connected with the shelter and are prayerfully looking forward to serving there again in 2026 as opportunities open. See the post titled: "Serving Hope Together: An Afternoon of Care and Connection”, in our Gallery.
| | | | These outreaches are about creating space for connection—offering a warm conversation, practical care, a listening ear, and the quiet reminder that no one should carry burdens alone. Often, healing begins in the smallest moments: being seen, being heard, being reminded that your story still matters.
What makes these moments especially meaningful is that many who serve understand pain personally. Some of our volunteers are survivors themselves, choosing to transform their scars into compassion for others. They know firsthand how deeply hope can take root when someone simply sees you and stays present.
As we look ahead, we invite you to consider being part of this work. You do not need special qualifications—only a willing heart. Whether through volunteering, encouraging, helping behind the scenes, or simply showing up to serve, your presence may become part of someone else’s healing journey.
Because sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness become the very thing that reminds someone: I am not forgotten.

Healing Together: Strength Found in Community Healing was never meant to be walked alone.
There is something deeply grounding about sitting in a room with others who understand, where stories are shared without judgment, and silence can feel just as supportive as words. In those moments—over a shared meal, a conversation, or even a simple smile—something begins to shift. Isolation loosens its grip, and connection starts to take its place.
Our in-person gatherings offer that kind of space: a place to slow down, be present, and experience the steady reminder that you are not walking this journey alone. Over time, these moments become more than meetings—they become relationships, encouragement, and a quiet rebuilding of trust in community.
At the same time, life does not always make it easy to gather in person. That is why our weekly online prayer group exists—to provide a consistent space of support and spiritual grounding, wherever you are. It is a time to pause, pray together, and find encouragement in the middle of real life, even in busy or difficult seasons.
Different settings, same heart: connection, healing, and the reminder that restoration often happens in community.

| | | | | | Connections in Motion: Where Healing Meets Community
Throughout every Mending The Scarred chapter, women continue gathering each month to find encouragement, deeper connection, and space to grow together.
Each chapter carries its own unique atmosphere and expression, yet all are united by the same purpose—a compassionate place for healing, faith, restoration, and authentic community.
Whether you connect with us in Orlando, Jacksonville, or through our Spanish-speaking chapter, you’ll encounter the same monthly theme thoughtfully explored within each community’s unique setting and rhythm.
Each chapter also shares its own flyer with clear details to help you easily find the gathering that fits you best.
Different places. Different expressions. One shared journey toward healing, restoration, and hope.

| This Month’s Topic: Breaking Agreements with Darkness Sometimes the deepest bondage is not obvious.
It can quietly shape the way we think, react, relate, and even see ourselves—hiding beneath fear, emotional survival patterns, control, confusion, or invisible spiritual weight.
This month, we are opening an honest and hope-filled conversation about the hidden places that keep hearts spiritually entangled. Together, we’ll explore how false agreements, unhealthy attachments, and subtle lies can influence our identity and distance us from the freedom God desires for us.
But this is not a journey centered on fear—it is a journey toward clarity, discernment, healing, and spiritual freedom. As truth comes into the light, chains begin to loosen, peace begins to return, and hearts can finally breathe again. |

| ¿Hablas español? | Speak Spanish?

Together, We Can Break the Cycle of Trauma
At Mending The Scarred, we believe every woman deserves the chance to heal, rebuild, and thrive after trauma.
Many women survivors of domestic violence and other hardships face overwhelming challenges—homelessness, financial instability, and emotional wounds that feel impossible to heal alone. That's where we stepped in.
We provide real, life-changing support to women in need, offering counseling, job assistance, emergency aid, took, clothing, medical care, and access to education. But we don't stop there —we're working toward a secure, transitional housing program in Central Florida, giving survivors a stable place to stay while they rebuild their lives.
This mission isn't just about meeting basic needs—it's about empowerment. We want women to move beyond survival, to become confident, self sufficient, and ready to build a bright future.
But we can'd do this alone. Your support—whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word—can change lives. Together, we can provide a fresh start for women who need it most.
